Messages from our Librarian - Mrs Adams

National Simultaneous Reading Time

Last week we joined 2,357,960 children to read The Speedy Sloth. The children all enjoyed the book. The children in Stages 2 and 3 did some wonderful research on this very slow creature. They even tried their hand at illustrating Spike. The children in Kinder and Stage 1 watched some videos about sloths.

New Furniture

Last Thursday we received a delivery of new library shelving for the library. The children have been very excited about this. It has opened up the library and hopefully will make it easier for the children to find books.

National Sorry Day

Last Friday, May 26th was National Sorry Day. It's a day for sharing stories and reflecting on the past. National Sorry Day was first held in 1998 as a way to recognise and acknowledge Stolen Generation survivors. The children this week have been appreciating our large selection of beautiful books by Our First Nation's Authors. The children in Stages 2 and 3 have focussed on the book Sorry Day by  Coral Vass. Once again you will find an amazing selection of books in Storybox Library. Once logged in, go to playlist  and the books will be under National Reconciliation Week.
