P&C News

Welcome back to White Gum Valley Primary School, and a happy 2023 to all staff and students! We hope you had a fantastic break, and we can't wait to share an exciting year with you.

The P&C AGM was held 22 February, and we want to extend our thanks to those who attended. A special shoutout to everyone who has committed to volunteering their time this year - your contribution is invaluable!

We are thrilled to announce that all required positions have been filled, and we look forward to working with everyone. Throughout the year, the P&C will organize various fundraising events, and your Year Group Fundraising Champion will keep you informed about the fundraising event assigned to your year and how you can get involved. Get excited to be part of these fun and fulfilling activities that will support our school and community!

FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

Exciting News! White House Property Partners has generously donated a Family Movie Night to White Gum Valley Primary School on Friday 31 March, and we would love for you and your family to join us. The movie featured will be Sing 2 and the event will begin at 6 pm on the school oval.

To make the night even more enjoyable, we will have delicious food and snacks available for purchase. Year 6 students will be selling dinner meals, while Year 4 students will be running the concession stand. We encourage you to bring a blanket, beanbag, or pillow to stay comfortable, and a torch may come in handy as it gets quite dark on the oval at night.

To ensure the safety of all attendees, we kindly ask that you supervise the children in your care and prevent them from wandering around the school or behind the movie screen. Additionally, we request that you refrain from bringing glass onto the oval. Our priority is to keep our kids safe, and we appreciate your cooperation.

Be on the lookout for the flyer, which will have all relevant information. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you there!

P&C Sustainability Sub-Committee

Interested in joining the P&C's sustainability subcommittee? We would love to have some new members.

What do we do? We provide guidance and support to the P&C, Canteen and school generally to become more environmentally sustainable. In the past two years, we have run a food waste audit, guided the introduction of FOGO and Containers for Change bins and run an educational signage competition.Get in touch with Steph Jennings 0411 293 633 or jenhill@iinet.net.au

Swimming

Every year the P&C helps with the cost of the swimming carnival, including training in the run up. This year we had a fantastic turn out for the early morning swim sessions at Fremantle pool. Thanks to Meredith for organising and Kelly, Dave and Ori for running the training.  It was great to see so many enthusiastic students and I’m sure the extra practice helped them on carnival day.
