Year 7 Orientation Morning

On the Year 7 Orientation Morning, the music department had a wonderful opportunity to showcase music for our incoming Year 7 students. For those who will be new to the school in 2020 it was an overwhelming experience and our visiting students were very engaged in the musical presentations.

The whole hour of music was filled with performances from the Middle School Choir conducted by Mrs Sharon Hunter, the Middle School Chamber Choir conducted by Ms Joanne Blankfield and the Middle School Orchestra conducted by Mr Willem van de Vis.

Our concert was then followed by presentations of several orchestral instruments by staff and students. It was a magnificent display of musical engagement between the students and instrumental staff.

Thank you to all the students in the ensembles for playing and singing and to George Tyurin (Year 12) and Jo Abbott for accompanying the choirs. We also extend a special thank you to all the instrumental staff for explaining and performing on their instrument to a very excited Year 7 2020 group.

2. SENIOR ORCHESTRA SPEECH NIGHT REHEARSAL AND DINNER, Sunday 24 November: 5.30– 8.30 pm, Orchestral Room.

3. JUNIOR SCHOOL CELEBRATION NIGHT, selected Junior Instrumental and Choral Groups:

Wednesday 27 November, Performing Arts Centre

4. SENIOR SPEECH NIGHT, all Senior Instrumental and Choral Groups: Friday 29 November 7 pm, Robert Blackwood Hall, Monash University

5. CHRISTMAS IS GIVING ASSEMBLY, Year 7/8 Choir, Middle School Chamber Choir:  5 December, Thursday morning

N.B. Other Speech Night rehearsals for the Instrumental and Choral Groups will be scheduled during the week of Monday Nov 25th. Details below.
