I started work as a grocery boy and did national service in 1952 and played football for Murchinson.

I got a job with the Land Department whom I worked for, for nearly 40 Years. I played for Kyabram in 1954. I played country championships representing the Goulburn Valley playing at centre half forward. We played Ovens and Murray and my opponent at centre half back was former Footscray champion Marty McDonnell who later went on to coach Crib Point to their 1st premiership.

I was transferred to lots of Country Victoria araeas. I played for Warracknabeal, Wangaratta, Tarrawigee, Garoke and Peronne. Eventually we finally settled in Mornington.

I am a keen follower of football and cricket and have supported Crib Point for nearly 40 years. My daughter married a Crib Point player.
