Co-curricular - Junior Sport
As we come to the end of Term 2 and a very busy time sport wise, with winter sport trials commencing, please be aware that there are three trial sessions for the Junior School and boys must attend each of these sessions. The times and dates were in last week’s Especean and boys have the schedule in their classrooms. Important things to remember for this Saturday:
- Boys need the appropriate equipment for their sport
Rugby | Jersey, boots |
AFL | Colour House shirt, boots |
Football | Colour House shirt, boots and shin pads |
- Boys trialling on Breen Oval will assemble in the Breen Oval Grandstand
- Boys trialling on SPC No. 2 and No. 3 will assemble in Powell Pavilion
- Boys trialling on SPC No. 4 will assemble on No. 4 Oval (near the Gym)
- All trials will be contact free, however mouthguards are encouraged
Boys will be split into groups of around 10 and will be allocated a set area for the trial. Equipment will be kept primarily with each group and coaches will move around the different groups. All trial activities will be held in these areas. Trials will focus on skills and ability to complete drills with proficiency.
A reminder to parents that they are unable to stay and watch the trials due to restrictions still in place. Boys will be dismissed at the end of their trial period and arrangements for pickup should be made in advance. Please wait in your car for your son. Any student unable to attend one of the trial sessions will need a doctor’s certificate to explain his absence.
I look forward to finally seeing all the boys out on the ovals this weekend trialling for winter sport.
