Years 7 to 11 Optional Parent/Teacher Interviews and Student Academic Reports

The Years 7 to 11 Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on the evenings of Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June, from 4.00pm until 9.00pm. It is important to note that the interviews are optional.

All interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams, either via a link emailed to the parent by the relevant teacher or by the teacher “calling” using the relevant student’s Teams account. Adhering to time, i.e., 5 minutes per interview, is necessary for the interviews to run smoothly. There is no expectation that parents book interviews for all their sons’ teachers. There is also no expectation that students are present for interviews. Students are still required to attend their Co-curricular training sessions scheduled on the afternoons of Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June.

Yesterday all parents were sent an email with instructions on how to book interview times online via Edval Interviews. Parents should check their emails for communication over the next week or so regarding interview bookings.

The interviews are an opportunity for parents to discuss their sons’ Semester 1 Report with respect to progress and adjustment to study routines, and recommendations for improvement in Semester 2. In particular, the interviews will not be an appropriate forum for parents of Year 10 to discuss prospective subject selections or enrolment in Year 11 with individual class teachers.

The Years 7 to 11 Semester 1 Reports will be posted online via the Sentral Parent Portal by Tuesday 23 June. In order to access their sons’ reports, parents will be required to log on to the Sentral Parent Portal, select their son’s name and then select Published Reports. Parents may view and/or print the report. Only parent accounts can access student reports. Parents who have forgotten their passwords can click ‘forgotten your username or password’ link on the Sentral Parent Portal login page.

The Year 10 Academic Attainment Test

The purpose of the Year 10 Academic Attainment Test is to provide the College with externally determined independent assessment data that will inform prospective Year 11 students and their parents in making appropriate subject selection choices for the senior years of secondary schooling.

The Year 10 Academic Attainment Test is administered by Academic Assessment Services, formerly Robert Allwell and Associates, who are nationally renowned independent consultants specialising in the assessment and analysis of educational performance and progress.
