Acting Principal

Mr Chris Grimmer

Thank You For Your Support

With just one week to go of Term 2 I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you and acknowledge the wonderful support and understanding we received from all members of our school community throughout what was the most unique and challenging school term many of us have ever experienced.

The restrictions to the school site, staggered dismissal times and adjustments to Breakfast Club times will remain in place for the remainder of the term but will be reviewed once we receive updated advice from the Department of Education prior to the start of Term 3. Please ensure you keep an eye on Compass posts regularly as all updated information will appear on the News Feed.

We have had a very small number of students arriving at school before 8:15am. Supervision is not provided before this time, so for their safety and wellbeing, please ensure your child is getting to school from 8:15am onwards. Breakfast Club will continue to open at this time until further notice.

College Values & Expectations

The majority of students have settled back into school routines quickly after the eight weeks of remote learning. However, we have had a very small number who have needed additional reminders about the importance of our College values of Respect, Responsibility and Quality. To ensure we maintain a positive, caring learning environment it is vital that all students uphold these values in every class, every day. We would really appreciate it if all families could take a moment to reinforce this message with your child/ren.

Early Dismissal - Friday June 26th

Next Friday 26th June is the final day of Term 2. Primary students will be dismissed at 2:15pm on this day, whilst Secondary students will be dismissed at 2:25pm.

Buses will run at the earlier times, other than the Wentworth bus, which will leave at the normal time of 3:00pm.

Uniform

With the cold weather well and truly upon us, students are requiring warm clothing. Please ensure your child has the appropriate school uniform to wear each day as this is an important way to stay connected and also creates a sense of belonging. A variety of uniform supplies are available to purchase through the College so please feel free to contact the office to arrange a purchase.

To ensure we maintain high standards across the College, families will be contacted if students are regularly coming to school out of uniform.

New Flag Pole

We have recently re-located our flag poles and added an additional pole, which now enables us to fly our three flags prominently at the front entrance of the College. Our primary leaders have the responsibility of putting the flags up in the morning and taking them down at the end of the school day. It’s fantastic that we can now display the three official flags of Australia, with the Australian National Flag, the Australian Aboriginal Flag and the Torres Strait Islander Flag flying proudly at the front entrance of the College.
