Initiatives to Reduce Rick

Attendance at school

Parents are to ensure that their child stays away from school if they are showing any signs or symptoms of illness (eg: cold, fever or flu like symptoms).

If a student presents unwell at school, parents/carers will be contacted to pick up their child.

Drop Off

Please drop your children at Kiss and Drop or at the Quorn Street gate if possible.

Parents of our Early Years students (Prep, Years 1, 2 and 3) may drop them at the Basketball Court, but are not to go to their child's classroom unless their child has specific needs and this has been prearranged and agreed with the teacher.

Parents are asked to leave the College grounds promptly and not congregate with other parents/carers.

Collection

Please collect your child at Kiss and Drop or on Quorn Street or if necessary, near the Primary playground area.  Please do not arrive too early and congregate with other parents/carers.  Please leave promptly after collecting your child.

If you have other children with you at pick up and/or drop off please note that they will not be permitted to use the play equipment.  The playground will be closed before school and after school.

Social distancing signage markers will be placed in central areas including the Kiss and Drop zone, the basketball court and outside the Early Years and Kinder learning spaces.

Kinder Students

Students can be dropped off and collected via the Nelson Road Kinder Gate or walked to Kinder with siblings if coming from Kiss and Drop.

Before School Care - After School Care - Long Day Care

Parents using these services are also able to use the Nelson Road Kinder Gate. Please ring the doorbell on the gate to alert staff of your arrival.

Contact with the College

If you need to speak to the teacher or other staff members, please email them prior to make arrangements.

Contact with the College Office should only need to occur when picking up sick children. All other enquiries should be via phone on 6216 7900 or email

Cleaning and personal hygiene practices

In addition to normal cleaning practices:

  • Extra cleaning of all door handles, taps, desks, shiny desktops, shared equipment, computers, keyboards, tablets, touchscreens and phones. Equipment, educational toys (puzzles, lego)etc  will be utilised on a rotational basis, with hand hygiene.
  • Doors and windows are being opened where possible.  Please ensure your child has a school jumper/jacket at school, which is labelled clearly with their name.
  • Soap and water as well as hand sanitiser is accessible to all students.  Students will be instructed to wash their hands at regular intervals throughout the day. Hand Hygiene will be implemented at the commencement of all lessons, before and after breaks.
  • Discouraging the sharing of food and/or drinks, pens/pencils and other equipment.

Canteen

The Canteen will reopen but we encourage families to place their orders using the QKR app rather than to use money.

Buses

Buses will return to their scheduled pick up and drop off times. Buses will maintain their additional cleaning protocols at the end of the run. Social distancing of students on buses is not required, but students are asked to be mindful that they provide distance to the bus driver.

The afternoon pick-up location for the Acton and Lauderdale buses will be relocated to Nelson Road to avoid congestion in Quorn Street.
