Virtual Cross Country

With Field Day and the Interschool Cross Country season not possible this year, Mount Carmel has turned to virtual events to fill the void. Cross Country is a versatile activity that fits within our current restrictions, and can be done anytime, anywhere and at any level.

All students are encouraged to participate in the MCC Virtual Cross Country this week and earn points for their house.  Students will earn 5 point by achieving the minimum distance for their year level, but can earn bonus points going a bit further.  We hope students will participate in a way that suits their age, fitness level and circumstances.  Younger students should be accompanied by family members and encouraged to run as much as they can; older students may wish to participate with some friends that live nearby or are at a similar fitness level.  We just ask students to be honest with their participation, extend themselves like they would usually do at Field Day, and enjoy that feeling of satisfaction at the end.

To earn house points, results are to be entered into this google form: Results

We’d still love to showcase the event with some photos and stories, so please send these through to sport@mountcarmel.tas.edu.au

Full details can be read by downloading the attached correspondence.

Great Australian Cross Country Challenge

Students from Year 3 to 10 that wish to continue to challenge themselves over a longer period may also sign up for the Great Australian Cross Country Challenge.  Staff have also been invited to take part.

More information and registration can be found here and entry is free with the promo code MCC

I will keep an eye on the GACCC Dashboard over the coming months and highlight the achievements of our keen runners.  Good luck team MCC!
