Environmental Council

Earlier this term we had many changes throughout the council including a new Executive. Our plan is to sustain the current plans as well as to encourage and support new projects. A poster competition was released to students and we had some fabulous designs. In third place we had Mackillop 5 and second place was Mackillop 4. The winner was Rice 5 and their design will be converted into a mural made from recycled bottle caps. More new projects are also being planned at the moment. 

In addition to this, we would like to thank Mr Lawrence Hatfield and the Bunnings store in Tamworth for their continued support and donation of equipment that we are using for weed removals and other upcoming projects. We would also like to thank Mr Paul Moxon, who was our guest speaker and was able to share valuable ideas with the council as well as visit the site we are working on to teach us a more hands-on lesson. His lessons on plant separating and ideas to upgrade our current system were very helpful and have already begun to improve our operation. 

The 2023 Executive Council is super excited for the upcoming year and encourages anyone who would like to join our weekly meeting on Thursday's second break to come along and have some hands-on fun in the dirt!
