Wellbeing News

A big welcome to our preps for 2023. Our new prep students had their first orientation session on Tuesday this week. It was a busy morning with our new students meeting their teachers, different friends and even Buddy the turtle in Prep L.

The students had a great morning exploring our playground, listening to stories in class and talking about what they are looking forward to next year.

A big thank you to our current students at SMDP who were excited to welcome new friends to their school by waving to them through the classrooms and showing them their big SMDP smiles.

As the end of term approaches quickly, it is a reminder for all of us of the importance of maintaining routines and structures to help students continue to feel safe at school.

Our Ways of Working (WOW) are consistent reminders to students of the importance of learning and playing in respectful and safe ways.

Each classroom has the WOW poster displayed and it is referred to frequently as a way to reinforce these expectations for all students. It may be a great time to talk to your child about ways they can continue to show safe and respectful behaviors to others both at school and home.
