STUDENT ACTIVITIES

On Thursday 10th November, Tomas N 4KJ competed at the second level school 9-hole golf competition at Curlewis Golf Club.

He was the only student to get 3 birdies and has also now qualified for the school state 18-hole competition in Altona on the 30th of November.

Well Done Thomas!

The APSMO Math Olympiad is an international maths competition with over 100,000 student competitors.  Student’s test their mathematics skills and problem solving abilities over 6 challenges throughout the school year. I am proud to announce that this year Chilwell finished in the top 15% of all competing schools, with several of our students receiving special awards.

Congratulations to all our competitors, but in particular: Vignesh Ram & Will Li (6MC) and George Han (5JS) for achieving scores in the top 5% of all competitors and a 3 way tie for Chilwell’s highest score. David Lee, Sam Zanoni, Alice Hu, Sayuni Dharmasena & Aaron Yu all finished in the top 10% of competitors, and Bella Tang & Nikki Kukreja finished in the top 25%.

Chilwell Softball

Both our girls and boys teams made it all the way to the regional finals. Both teams had wins on the day, and were both a chance to progress to the next round late in the day. Unfortunately we were unable to progress to the state championship with a final round loss, finishing second on their respective ladders. All students should be proud of the way they have represented their school this year, and the way they competed on the day.  A big thank you to Travis Mann & Lee Bolton for their assistance on the day.

Well done to all the following competitors:

Molly Mann, Issy Mann, Maddie James, M.C Tallent, Bella Tang, Alice Kozulin, Alya Cilinger, Elise Castillo, Annabelle Jeremiah, Fabian Hall, Edison Bell, Jack Bolton-Dobb, Angus Gray, Paxten Shannon, Aaron Jeong, Occy Sheehan, Qixuan Ma, Hugo Verbrugge
