We are all in full swing as we head into the busiest period of our school year. I can share with our community that we are on track with all that needs to occur before the end of the 2022 school year!
Parent Community Association - THANK YOU:
I would like to sincerely thank our PCA members Kylie Hodor, Rachael Sinfield, Kylie Nunlist, Serenity Jenkins, Nadya Williams, Sally Eagles and Scott Cordon. In addition a heartfelt thanks to our PCA Executive team President Tara Chandrasgran, Vice President Louise Cashen, Secretary Kate Topp, Treasurer Katherine Thorn and Teacher Representative Felicity Dobson for their combined leadership and efforts.
I am so grateful for all the activities/fundraisers throughout the past year, not only because they raised a lot of money for our school but also for the fun and morale booster that these activities provided for our students and their families.

School Oval and Line Marking UPDATE:
Our School Council has worked extremely hard to ensure the resurfacing of our school oval project was successfully completed. We did have additional line marking that we had factored in to be done after the laying of the turf. This will now not occur because doing so will affect our 4 year warranty, therefore we have decided that the money PCA raised towards the additional line marking for our oval will now go towards refreshing the line marking that is on our concrete surfaces. This was done some years ago and requires a refresh. I am sure our children will appreciate the refresh so that they can enjoy the various student activities/games.
We will purchase soccer goals that are mobile and easily erected for our school oval, where we originally were going to line mark. This will ensure our students get to enjoy playing soccer. I will communicate this to or students at our next school assembly. I am thanking you all ahead of time for your understanding with this change of plan.
World Teachers’ Day Celebrations:
Last Friday we had a beautiful celebration honouring the work of our fabulous teachers. Thank-you to all our students and families for acknowledging the tremendous efforts, care and work of our teachers. Personally, I am grateful for our teachers, and I am constantly in awe of their dedication, resilience and positivity. Our profession needs more great teachers to lead in preparing our children to be confident, resilient and compassionate human beings who care about others’ and use their talents to make the world a better place.
Prep Enrolments and our Meet and Greet chats :
We continue to accept prep students and our numbers are slowly increasing. If you have a child in pre school or a child that is turning 5 before 30th April, 2022 please phone our office for an enrolment form and an appointment with me so that I can meet with you and your child. I have thoroughly enjoyed our Meet and Greet chats with our 2023 prep students and their families. I can safely say that it has been one of my most joyous moments as a school leader.
Forward Planning and Grade Structures for 2023:
We have begun the process of forward planning and looking at grade structures, numbers and staffing for the 2023 school year. In doing so I invite all parent/carers who know their child/children will NOT be returning to our school please phone our office on 9744 - 4566 and let us know please. This will assist us with plans for our grades and staffing profile.A friendly reminder that all additional information that we may not be aware of that may affect your child's class placement next year needs to have been in writing and forwarded directly to my email address at katarina.cvitkovic@education.vic.gov.au with subject header ATTENTION KATHY by Friday November 4th, TODAY. Please note that any emails that come through after the 4th November date will not be considered due to the flow on effect that late changes will have on our process.
Please note that this is not a teacher/class selection process but an opportunity to provide us with information that may assist with your child's social and academic groupings. Please note that whilst all information will be carefully considered case by case, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be met.
ART PROGRAM 2023
I am pleased to confirm that our VISUAL ARTS program will return in 2023. The program in 2023 will be a specialist program and will have a full time specialist teacher. We have already begun to make preparations for our VISUAL ARTS program and I am sure that many of our students will be excited about this. I will let our community know the name of the teacher once all our teachers and grades are in place.
I am sending my warmest wishes to all in our community.
I sincerely hope that all our families enjoyed the long week-end and are now refreshed and re-energized.
Warmest Regards,
Kathy Cvitkovic
