Year 11 CDU Science Excellence Experience

At the beginning of this week (24th-26th of October), Iris Chenhall and Nilein Perera travelled with me (Jenni Frank, Acting Head of Science) to the CDU Casuarina Campus in Darwin to be part of the Year 11 CDU Science Excellence Experience. This experience is sponsored by Charles Darwin University and is offered to the top Year 11 students in the Northern Territory who have shown a passion and promise in science. As part of this experience, Iris and Nilein participated in a variety of extension Science-based activities with like-minded students from around the territory. These activities included blood type testing, analysing their own cells, and using virtual reality to explore the inside of organs (photos below). This was a chance for them to experience life at university and see all the places a career in science could take them. I would like to thank CDU for providing our students with this invaluable opportunity and experience.
