Junior Art

Our talented Year 6 students have recently completed work on their Terracotta Warrior sculptures. Using hand building techniques, students created their own warriors with attention to adding clothing, armour, facial and hair details. The class studied the ancient Chinese warrior sculptures and also the work of contemporary French artist, Prune Nourry who in 2013 created a project titled ‘Terracotta Daughters’. 

Well done Year 6s – they look fantastic!

Foundation Fire Truck Visit 

Recently our Foundation students have been learning about Fire Rescue Victoria and the role of the brave firefighters. Today there was a special visit and students were able to see a real life fire truck up close, and even got to spray the fire hose! 

STS Bursary Winners

At the beginning of Term 2 all the Year 6 students planned, researched, created and presented a Science Talent Search project of their choice. After presenting to the Huntingtower community, 10 students were chosen to represent Huntingtower in the Victorian Science Talent Search competition. 

This year we had 6 bursary winners! Congratulations to Elen, Matthew, Eric L, Kanan and Thalia who received minor bursaries projects and well done to Maria for receiving a major bursary. Excellent effort from everyone.

Year 5 & 6 Camp

The Year 5s and 6s were at Gundiwindi Lodge for their camp last week, near Wandin, where they enjoyed three days of outdoor education, initiative games and teambuilding. It certainly looked like a fun experience.

Melbourne United NBL Incursion

This week the Junior School were lucky enough to compete against Melbourne United and play some basketball games. Thank you to the United team for coming down, what a great day!

Year 2 IGA Excursion

The Year 2s had a big expedition this week. They walked up to IGA to do some shopping for lunch as part of their maths unit understanding money. Well done Year 2 on a successful trip!
