Achievements

Pranav C (Year 11)

Well done to Pranav who took part in the Australian Physics Olympiad Competition earlier this semester. Pranav's impressive performance and ‘High Distinction’ award has resulted in him being invited to the Olympiad Summer School Camp at ANU in Canberra. This is a three-week intensive program for high performing Physics students from across Australia, to be held in January 2023. 

Meaning Pranav will then have the chance to be selected for the Australian Olympiad team and travel to Japan next year for the International Physics Olympiad!


Klaus D (Year 2)

Klaus was awarded First Prize in the 2022 International Music Competition "Paris" Grand Prize Virtuoso, and invited to perform in Paris in December (an invitation which he will reluctantly decline). Congratulations to Klaus on a wonderful performance on the piano, and on receiving such encouraging recognition of his hard work and passion.


Ron X (Year 8)

Congratulations to Ron who has been invited to attend both the AMOC School of Excellence and The Australian Training Tournament School.

 

Both are by invitation from the Australian Mathematical Olympiad Committee.

This is a phenomenal achievement for a student in Year 8. Well Done Ron.

Aimee M (Year 3)

Aimee won a medal in the ICAS Digital Technologies Assessment. Medal winners place first in their subject and grade level across the state.

Jamie W, Emmett A, Kevin Z and Eric J (Year 6s)

In the Junior School Maths Olympiad competition, the following Year 6 students scored perfect scores: Jamie, Emmett, Kevin and Eric. They each received a medal and the school received a plaque in recognition of their hard work. 

 

Well done to students from Year 3 - 6 who partook in this tough competition!

George H (Year 9)

Swimming star George has had some exciting news as he was called up for the following high level competitions and camps:

 

- 2022 Queensland Championship in December

- Swimming camp for the Victorian State Team in January 2023

- Victorian Age Championships in March 2023 

- National Age Championships in April 2023. 

 

George has also achieved a national ranking of 1st in the 50 Back and 100 Back in the short course swimming season!


Mingyao Z (Year 9)

Well done to Mingyao who has been selected to represent Victoria in 2023 Australia U15 Indoor Hockey Cup next January in Brisbane. This will be his 4th time representing Victoria and 2nd time playing in the national indoor tournament. The indoor tournament was cancelled twice during Covid and is now back after 3 years so Mingyao is very excited and has been training hard with the team.


Lexie N (Year 6)

Congratulations to Lexie who has made the Victorian Under 12 SSV Softball team and has been named captain for the team. She will be competing in the School Sport Australia 12 years and under Softball Championship to be held at Waverley Softball Association, Victoria from the 20th to 25th November 2022.

 

It's always exciting to see hard work, passion and dedication culminate in the achieving of a goal. We look forward to hearing how both Lexie and Victorian team goes against the country's best. Well done!
