Thought for the week

“The lives of great men and women are miracles of patience and perseverance.”

Magnifying the Good

As we move towards our end of year events and celebrations, I have taken some time to reflect on all the good we have in our wonderful Huntingtower community. One tradition we observe at the commencement of all our staff briefings and meetings is to “Magnify the Good.”

It is a deliberate practise that comes from our Christian Science foundations of illuminating all the good we have in our daily lives and sharing this with each other. You get more of what you look for, and we have an abundance of individual and collective acts that exemplify our values of kindness, respect and excellence. Mary Baker Eddy reminds us we get less limitations, less grievance and less disharmony when the mind is filled with goodness. So let us magnify it.

I would like to encourage all our families to practise “Magnifying the Good”. This could easily be done while sharing a meal at the dinner table or in the car on the way home. Share what has been good at school, in your family, your community or workplace. Try and do this each day, and I am certain you will see and enjoy even more good that exists in your life. It was always there!

We would like to thank all families for giving us the privilege to spend time educating your children. All our staff at Huntingtower take this responsibility very seriously. In the words of Mrs Reynolds (Year 7 Coordinator) when addressing the new Year 7 families for 2023; “Your children are our children, your concerns are our concerns. We will work together to help your child be the best version of themselves.”
