Focus on Learning
Stage 2 - Mrs Robyn Wilson
English
Stage 2 have been having fun this week learning all about Procedural texts. In the photos below we asked the students to write a procedure for making a peanut butter sandwich. It was fun watching Mrs Canham using those procedures to make the sandwich. The students quickly learned the importance of making sure that their steps were concise and well written.
Mathematics
For the last few weeks, we have been learning about multiplication. The students love to practise using their times tables knowledge to solve word problems. Every morning while the teacher marks the roll the students write out their times tables and they are tested when they feel confident that they know them. As this is a Learning Goal that most of them have chosen and Mrs Wilson loves that they are trying their hardest to reach that goal. Below you can see some of their work.
History
The students have just completed their slides on different world celebrations. They have loved researching about their chosen celebration. Below is some of their work.
CAPA
In visual arts the students have completed a painting of Chinese Lanterns, which are fantastic (see below). These lanterns were a part of our learning in History about world celebrations.
Science
In a science lesson this term, students had to plan and design a model of a water irrigation system that could be used to water our school vegetable garden. Some of their ideas were amazing see below.
The students also had to design and present to the class a Food Preparation machine. Look below to see the designs they came up with.
