RAID Yr9 Program
RAID - Respect, Achievement, Innovation, Diversity
Last time on RAID students got to choose between a few different options.
The group that chose "MARS" went to VSSEC to simulate a scientific mission to Mars:
Those that chose "COURT" got a tour of the Old Melbourne Gaol and then simulated a criminal trial for culpable driving:
The students interested in "GROWING FOOD" went to CERES in Brunswick to test their green thumb:
The group that chose "SURVIVAL AT SEA" visited the Polly Woodside, a ship from the 1800s to learn about how sailors navigated and lived out on the water for those long journeys.
Finally, the "COMEDY" group went to the Melbourne Arts Centre to do a few improvisations, acting and comedic activities.
In week 1 next term we'll be at school for some work with the careers team about strengths and weaknesses in relation to subject selections. We'll be doing Greenhat's PLANKS activity https://greenhatworkshop.com.au/, and I'll give more information on the upcoming RAID Overnight City Stay which is on the 9th of August for one night.
