Young Performers Concert

Thursday evening marked the highly anticipated annual Young Performers Concert, where over 70 talented Primary students took centre stage to showcase their musical talents. This wonderful concert featured an array of captivating solo and duet performances on the piano, guitar, and vocals.

This musical performance showcased a variety of piano, guitar and vocal solo and duet performance items, as well as incredible ensemble performances from the Jr Drumline, Jr Singers (choir) and the two Year 5 Rock Bands.

We extend our gratitude to the fantastic team of music tutors and ensemble directors, who prepared the students so well for their stellar performances, as well as our Primary and Secondary students who volunteered their time to assist at the concert; Josephine and Zena Colacino, Rhylee Chapman, Isabella Louttit, and Cabe Ludlow. Their invaluable support behind the scenes ensured that the evening ran smoothly, making it a memorable experience for all involved.

The concert treated the audience to remarkable ensemble performances by the Jr Drumline, Jr Singers (choir), and the two Year 5 Rock Bands. These young performers demonstrated their dedication and passion, delivering outstanding renditions that left the crowd in awe.

Overall, the Young Performers Concert was a resounding success, celebrating the immense talent and hard work of our students. It served as a testament to the importance of music education and the power of nurturing young minds to reach their full potential.

A Taste of Africa – Performance

Last Friday, Year 2 and Year 7 students enjoyed an exciting performance by Asanti Dance Theatre called 'A Taste of Africa.' The event was carefully selected to align with the relevant curriculum Music topics for both Year 2 and Year 7 Music classes, which focus on ‘Music Around the World.’

The interactive event immersed students in African culture and music. They learnt about African music instruments, dances, and traditional village activities. The artists showcased their talent and energy through a captivating performance. Students had the opportunity to play djembes, ask questions about African culture, and engage in drumming and dance activities.

The event left a lasting impression, fostering cultural appreciation and knowledge exchange.
