Clever Classes

Grade 1 & Grade 2

Grade 1 Leatherwood

We have been really busy learning about Design and Make as part of our Technologies unit.  After learning about native Australian animals and visiting Bonorong Park, we had to chose one native animal and design a diorama of their habitat.  In our design we had to think about what things are important for animals to live and what particular things our chosen animal needed.  After completing our design, we made our very own diorama, which we had a lot of fun creating over a few weeks.  Have a look at the photos of our amazing creations.

Grade 2 Wattle

Mackillop Buddies Maths Session

After many weeks of planning Isabelle and Hannah were the first MacKillop students to take their Maths session with the Grade 2 JPII students. The girls had the focus on addition and subtraction. They designed sheets of varying levels and went with a colour by number theme.

The JPII students enjoyed the activity and loved colouring  the pictures the girls had designed.

Exploring Local History in Grade 2

In Grade 2 we have been looking at our local history.  Students have been learning to identify the significance of a local person, group, place and/or building.

We have specifically been looking at Port Arthur. Students were given the task to write about their prisoner using sentencing with the words 'because', 'and' 'so'.

This is what we have come up with. What amazing work!
