This term, students from Prep to Grade 6 have been studying the work of Hokusai and the iconic Great Wave off Kanagawa, which is more widely known as The Great Wave. Each class has approached making their own version in a slightly different way while using some of Hokusai’s techniques to create visual movement. Grade 5 and 6 have exchanged the iconic Mount Fuji for our iconic kunanyi, after sketching it as part of the process to create their work. Overall students have done a fantastic job of taking a well-known artwork and making it their own.
