Dear Families
We have several opportunities for parents coming up in the next few weeks:
Circle of Life - 6.00pm Tuesday 13 June - John Paul II Church Community Room: Monique Hall, from the Catholic Education Office, will be running a parent evening session. This will run for 60 minutes on Tuesday 13 June at 6pm in the Church, where all parents are encouraged to attend. Each class will attend two sessions throughout this week with the sessions consisting of group presentations, personal stories, digital resources, creative activities and small group discussions. The program is designed to engage young people in responding to the challenges of growing up and making healthy decisions for themselves and others.
Lady Gowrie Tasmania Family Meet and Greet - Thursday 22 June 3.00pm Emmaus (New Hall)
Educators from Lady Gowrie Tasmania will be in Emmaus, ready to meet new families keen to utilise our new before and after school care service. It is a good opportunity for families to meet the staff and ask any questions before the service commences. A memorandum of understanding between Lady Gowrie and the school has been submitted and we are just waiting for a service approval from Education and Care. Please fill out this Expression of Interest form, if you are interested in utilising the service: https://forms.monday.com/forms/ac8081dce321507c03ac6340f4889497?r=use1
Internet Safety and Social Media – 3.00pm Friday 23 June - John Paul II Church Community Room: Marty Ogle will be presenting to students on Friday 23 June. The parent session will be an opportunity for Marty to share his expertise and have a positive and healthy discussion with parents. This is one of the major issues that I see causing challenges for our students in Grades 3-6, so it is excellent that we can provide this opportunity. The session is funded by the Tasmanian Catholic Parents Association of Tasmania.
School Validation Survey – emailed individually to parents:
As part of our ongoing commitment to continuously improving the school, we believe it is critical to seek each parent and guardian’s opinion on a range of issues relating to John Paul II Catholic School. Your feedback is very important to us as we continue to build a successful school and strengthen our reputation as an ‘educator of choice’. As such, we have engaged the professional services of MYPCorp to undertake a strictly private and confidential School Results Survey on our behalf. The survey should take approximately 10 - 15 minutes and will need to be completed online between 1 June and 29 June. There are no right or wrong answers and we ask that you respond honestly to each statement.
Please note that this survey will be confidential. No member of the leadership team at John Paul II Catholic School will have access to your individual responses. We will be provided with a summary of collated results only. MYPCorp will undertake the following process to ensure anonymity:
1. Parents and guardians will be emailed individual survey logins.
2. Results will be collated externally.
3. A summary of collated results will be provided to the school leadership team.
On the survey start date, survey instructions and a personalised login link will be emailed to all parents. You will continue to receive friendly reminders during the survey period until you have submitted the survey. If you do not receive your survey instructions on the survey start date, please check your spam and junk email folders before contacting John Paul II Catholic School. While we strongly encourage you to participate, the survey is not compulsory. If you decide that you do not want to complete the survey, simply click ‘Unsubscribe’ in the instruction or reminder email.
Learning Conferences – Parents can book via Compass: Bookings for Term 2 Learning Conferences are now open via Compass. Specialist teachers are also available.
Please ring the office if you have any problems.
