A rich variety of extracurricular activities

Educating the 'whole child'

At GNLC, we pride ourselves in the education of the whole child. Key to this is our ability to provide our students with a rich variety of extracurricular activities. In this week’s Senior Years highlights we celebrate some of the many extracurricular activities on offer. A huge note of thanks to the dedicated teachers who organise and support student involvement in our extracurricular programs, so that our students can have a truly rich educational experience during their time at GNLC.

Subject and Pathways Expo

The Subject & Pathways Expo’ will be held on Tuesday 20 June in the Senior Years Building from 6.00pm. We remind you that this is considered a 'COMPULSORY' event for all Year 10 and 11 students.  A 2024 Year 11 information session will begin at 7.30pm and a 2024 Year 12 information session will commence at 7.00pm. All activities are in the Senior Years Building.

Students and families should attend this session to collect a copy of the 2024 Senior Years Subject Selection Handbook and learn more about the process for choosing subjects.

RedX Racing Update

The dedicated RedX team have commenced Tuesday evening trainings and are preparing for training in the Aquapulse spin room in Term 3. All team members are well on track to be ready for the 24-hour race in November. The maintenance team are preparing for a fresh spray painting of the bike shells, following the design competition. Should you wish to know more about RedX Racing, please speak to Mr Greenhough.

GNLC Chess Club

Thanks to a recent acquisition of Chess sets, we now have a Chess Club up and running for interested Middle and Senior Years students. The club is open to beginners, novices and grand-masters, and meets every Tuesday lunchtime in the Library. For more information about chess, please contact Mr Lacey or Mrs Champness.

Senior Years Drama Production

A huge note of thanks to Ms Courtney Yengi and her dedicated team of Senior Years students for the production of 'Clue On Stage'. After weeks of rehearsals, it was great to see this budding group of performers and backstage crew bring together their hard work for the nights of performances this week. Putting on any sort of production requires a huge amount of work and effort from a dedicated team, and this play was no exception.
