Buddy Benches

A buddy bench or friendship bench is a seat in a school playground where a child can go when they want someone to talk to.  Buddy benches are designed to combat loneliness and bullying in schools.  Children can sit on the bench to indicate that they are feeling lonely or isolated and need another child to reach out to them.

Our buddy benches have finally been built and are ready to place in the yard.  The Buildings and Grounds team thank Zane and Peter for putting these together.  The Student Leaders will oversee the final placement of the benches in the yard and how the benches will be monitored.  Watch this space.

We need Community help  

Once again, the shade sail over the playground had to be sent off for repairs with an additional tea.  These tears are being caused by teenagers who are climbing up onto the shade sails and laying on them after hours.  This is an incredibly dangerous practice of which the teenagers may not understand.  Please spread the word around the community that this needs to stop. In this way, we can educate others whilst preventing an accident from occurring and needing to invest in costly repairs.
