Wow, what a whirlwind term 1 has been in the Sport Department.  We had the running of two major house carnivals – swimming and athletics.  In additional there was EISM swim carnivals and, of course, regular EISM sport.  A big congratulations to all of the swimmers who competed in the EISM Champions on Monday. The weather was cold and dreary but that didn't stop our students from giving it their all and winning big. We had numerous successes with our relays. Congratulations to Peter D, Christopher L, Cheng-Yu H, George H, Julia P, Kai S, Mackenzie L, Lauren Y and Amelia L who all placed in their individual races! And with that, we officially farewell the swimming season for 2023.

Congratulations to our Senior Boys and Girls Badminton teams along with the Senior Girls Softball team who one their Grand Finals.  No mean feat given Huntingtower now competes in EISM’s Division One against some significantly larger schools (in terms of student numbers).  Unfortunately the Senior Boys Softball and Mixed Tennis teams had their Grand Finals washed out and these haven’t been rescheduled as yet.  

Our Year 8 and 9 interschool sport program has now begun so term 2 will see some wonderful competition against other EISM member schools.

The house carnivals have meant many sessions of before school trainings – thank you to all who participated and the staff that came in early.

The start to 2023 sport has certainly been busy for everyone involved but it has been wonderful to see the interest and uptake by so many students.  The willingness to not only participate but assist is gratefully appreciated.
