Grateful for time spent with Martin Heppell

The Resilience Project

Last week students attended an excursion at Guthrie St Primary School. Our time was short, however, our experience was rich. Martin’s energy and enthusiasm enthralled us all, as he encaptured what gratitude means and demonstrated how we all have so much to be grateful for. His stories and experiences were amazing to listen to and the dancing at the end was superb!

Assemblies for Term 2

Term 2 is a shorter term. We will celebrate the School of Wonder with assemblies in Weeks 3, 6 and 8. Families are invited to share in our celebrations. Further details will be provided closer to the dates.

Learning conversations

Thank you to all families who booked and attended learning conversations earlier this week. It is fantastic to discuss our learners, their accomplishments and goals. Communication is key; please continue to communicate with your child’s Pastoral Group Leader. Communication ensures that Learning Mentors can best support your child and their learning.

Happy holidays

As we approach the Easter holidays, we reflect on a busy and wonderful Term 1. Term 1 has seen us initiate The Resilience Project across our school. This project captures all that is great in our school. We show gratitude for our school facilities, our learners, our families and our staff. We are so fortunate at St Anne’s and stopping every single day just for a moment to reflect and ask the question, “Where did I find joy today?”, enables everyone to express gratitude for everything we have and everything we do. As you spend time with loved ones over this holiday period, take a moment and ask yourself, “Where did I find joy today?”

From everyone at our college, we wish you a safe, happy and relaxing holiday break.

Focusing on healthy minds and healthy bodies

In the second half of Term 2, Years 3 and 4 children started to explore, "Who we are . . . " with a focus on mental and physical health. They investigated what healthy eating is and how it can help us focus and stay healthy. They did activities that are good for our mental health, such as cooking, mindfulness, relaxation etc. Children chose a topic to explore further that looks at physical or mental health and things we can do to support being healthy. Some of these things were to create a fitness circuit; a healthy recipe; a week of healthy lunches; a collage of healthy foods; a survival pack; brain gym and much more. The children shared their work at their iTime expo during the last week of term.

Egg-citing time had with buddies

Foundation children spent time with their Year 7 buddies on Wednesday, collaborating with them to create Easter baskets for a much-anticipated Easter egg hunt in the college's front garden. The children love spending time with their buddies and this was an egg-citing way for them to end the term!

We need your newspapers please

Students whose families have newspapers they no longer need are asked to please bring them into the college at the beginning of Term 2 and give them to Art Learning Mentor Mark Almond in the Atelier. The newspapers are needed for a paper mache Art project that will commence in Week 2 of Term 2.
