SPaR   

For those new to our school, SPaR (Stop, Pray and Reflect)  it is a 10 - 15 minute parent and carer prayer session, held roughly each fortnight which gives us the opportunity to be still and allow the presence of God to work in his mysterious ways. Some weeks it may go for a bit longer if there is an activity attached, however, I will notify when this is the case via the newsletter. 

Be sure to schedule the SPaR dates for Term 2 so you don’t miss out.

Mother’s Day

On Thursday 11th May, 2023, we will celebrate Mother’s Day at St Margaret Mary’s. We warmly welcome all Mother’s or important Mother figures to join us for breakfast and a Mother’s Day Liturgy. All are welcome!

Parent/Student SPaR - Kindy, Year 1 & Year 2

In May we will hold Parent/Student SPaRs (Stop, Pray and Reflect). The scheduled dates are:

Year 2 - Monday 15th May, 2023 at 2:30pm

Kindy - Monday 22nd May, 2023 at 2:30pm

Year 1 - Monday 29th May, 2023 at 2:30pm

The SPaR’s will take place in the respective year levels classroom and will be a 10 minute prayer followed by a Sacramental craft between students and their parent. We hope you can join us.

Term 2 Family Mass & Year 6 Confirmation candidate commitment Mass

Our Term 2 Family Mass will be held on Saturday 20th May, 2023 at 5:30pm. This will be a great opportunity for our school community to join with the St Margaret Mary’s Parish community for weekend mass. This mass will also be our Year 6 Confirmation candidate commitment mass. There will be a short gathering following mass please bring a plat to share.

Our Family Masses are held once a term and children from all year levels and parents will be asked to participate in the mass as Readers, Ministers etc.. Below is the schedule of Family Masses at St Margaret Mary’s for 2023. As we only have one Family Mass per term, it is expected all families participate and it is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community for weekend mass.

Sydney Vinnies Brekky Van

During the Term 1 holidays on Sunday 16th April, 2023, a group of St Margaret Mary's and OLSH parents and parishioners collaborated to cook and serve breakfast to approx. 65 - 70 people at Prince Alfred Park in Surry Hills. 

Thank you to those parents who participated in this our first joint initiative. All will agree it was a worthwhile and humbling experience. We have two more dates that we have committed to this year - Sunday 20th August, 2023 and  Sunday 12th November, 2023. St Margaret Mary’s Playgroup 

The St Margaret Mary’s Playgroup will run every Tuesday morning from Term 2 from 9am - 10:30am. If you have children starting at St Margaret Mary’s in 2024 or beyond, please join us. Spread the word as there may be new families in our community who are unaware we have a playgroup at the school.
