Assistant Principal

Danielle Frost

Welcome back to Term 2! I hope you all had a lovely break and Easter.

During the holidays, Mrs McClure and myself had the opportunity to work with a group of teachers from Sydney Catholic Schools in developing teaching programs that align with the Years 3 - 6 Mathematics Syllabus that will be rolled out next year. This was a wonderful opportunity to do a “deep dive” into the new curriculum and develop teaching and learning experiences across various stages. We look forward to sharing our learning with the teachers through our collaborative planning sessions this term.

National Walk Safely to School Day is celebrating its 24th anniversary and will be held on 19 May. This annual event encourages primary school children to walk and get to school safely. This event helps reinforce safe pedestrian behaviour, promotes the health benefits of walking, creates healthy habits at a young age, and develops vital road-crossing skills.

Headspace Schools Parent and Student Workshops

The Headspace Schools and Communities Mental Health Education Program delivers free mental health education workshops to secondary school communities across Australia. The student workshops aim to increase mental health literacy, reduce stigma, and build the capacity of young people to understand their own wellbeing needs, support their peers and explore pathways for help-seeking. Headspace also offers Parent and Carer workshops alongside the student workshops.  For more information about the program or to book sessions, please contact Headspace at: MHEP@headspace.org.au

Headspace National is also hosting an education webinar for parents and carers of young people in the Sydney region of NSW Tuesday, 9 May 2023 12:00 - 1:15pm. The session aims to -

  • Strengthen your understanding of mental health and wellbeing
