REGIONAL SCIENCE EXCHANGE PROGRAM

Regional Science Exchange Program

This year, Red Cliffs Secondary College have partnered with John Monash Science School (JMSS) to offer the students at our school an exciting opportunity. The Regional Science Exchange is for Year 10 students from rural and regional Victoria who have talent, interest, curiosity and enthusiasm in the areas of Science, Mathematics and/or Technology.

Students apply and are selected to join other like-minded students on a three-week exchange in Melbourne to attend JMSS which is Victoria’s first specialist secondary school with an explicit focus on science, mathematics and associated technologies.

We are very excited to announce two of our students, Alice Keely and Jamaine Lawson-Chapman, have been successful in their applications and will be off to attend school at JMSS starting next week! Both Alice and Jamaine worked very hard on their applications and consistently put in an enormous amount of effort in their subjects everyday at school. Although the Reddy community will miss them, we wish them all the best for their exchange and cannot wait to hear all about it when they return.

In addition to regular studies, Alice and Jamaine will experience the unique learning environment offered through JMSS’s co-location and partnership with Monash University and will benefit from working with a large group of scientifically-minded students. They will also have the opportunity to participate in specialised science electives, fields trips and extra-curricular activities.

If you are currently in Year 10 and think you might be interested in participating next term, please let your Science teacher know! There will be another exchange in Term 3 and we encourage and will support anyone who may be interested to apply.
