House Cross Country/Fun Run

We couldn’t have ordered better weather for our annual cross country/fun run. Down at the river there was a sea of colour with students all wearing their house colours as well as on our oval for the fun run. When I got back to school I was greeted by many very excited students from grades prep-2 wanting to let me know the number of laps they’d been able to run in their designated time.

Congratulations to all students on their efforts and enthusiasm on the day. We had some impressive results whether it was very fast times at cross country or huge numbers of laps run at the fun run.

A HUGE thank you goes to all the many parent and staff helpers who made these activities successful and to run smoothly.

Also, congratulations to the students who now qualify to go on to the District Cross Country to be held at Ruffey Lake Park on Tuesday 16th May. There is a clash with a State Schools Spec rehearsal, however Kirsty has said that this rehearsal is not compulsory. Some students may be able to go to SSS rehearsal for 2 hours and then come for their cross country race. Please see attachment for the race times and a map of the course.

Each school needs to provide marshalls on the day, if you are available please let me know, thank you.

Those families who participated in this fundraiser for the school, thank you, and could all money please be brought to the office before the end of May when there will be an assembly and the awarding of prizes.

Interschool Sport

This term our Interschool sport is played in the afternoon, from 1.30pm-2.50pm. Our first match is a HOME game on Thursday 4th May.

Our sports this year are soccer, football, teeball and hot shots tennis.

Our hot shots team does not have a coach so if there is a parent available to coach/supervise this team on a Thursday afternoon please let me know.

If your child is in the soccer or football team a sport top will be given to them on loan for the term. A $30 deposit is required before these tops are handed out. An envelope with your child’s name on the front and $30 needs to be given to Cherise please before next Thursday.
