2022

Student Leadership

Team

The 2022 Student Leaders met for their first meeting last week. The Captains and Vice-captains led the team-building activities and the Student Leaders identified their common purpose – to improve connectedness around our school.

All students are welcome to attend their year level’s Student Action Team meetings or be part of our Environment, Diversity and Arts student groups. Meeting times and locations will be posted on the Compass news feed each fortnight. Our Year Level Leaders and Captains will then report back to the Student Leadership Team to identify actions and lead student-led initiatives. There will be lots of exciting things happening at Maffra SC in 2022!

Hello, I am Kasey Svenson and I am Year 10 Leader for 2022. My favourite things to do in my spare time is travelling, going to the beach, running, catching up with friends and doing gymnastics. This year, we are starting to brainstorm and problem solve ideas for the Year 10 lockers, so if anyone has any ideas, please let myself or Meagan Webster know. We would love to hear any suggestions that you have, including lockers and any other improvements that can be made. Thanks,

Kasey.

Hey, Maffra Secondary College community.

My name is Jye Missen and this year I have been given the opportunity to become a Diversity Captain. I enjoy celebrative activities that involve everyone and that are focused on things I enjoy like the outdoors and community. This year our diversity group “Get to Gather’s” is on every second Wednesday with a start of 1:45pm (next meeting 9th of march) and everyone, staff and students, are welcome to come alone. Last meeting, we talked about Harmony Day to “celebrate Australia’s diverse culture” and this will happen on 21st of March. We are hoping to have a range of cultural food available at the canteen throughout the week and cultural posts on the MSC Facebook page, so look out for that. If anyone has any ideas regarding Harmony Day, please email Megan or myself at web0020@maffrasc.vic.edu.au or mis0009@maffrasc.vic.edu.au

Wishing you all well.
