Getting Back Into The Swing Of Things

Welcome back to all students and families as we are now slowly returning to a little more normality. Classrooms are now up and running for the year and we are seeing excellent routines in place and established across our school. Our teachers and students have all been working hard to kickstart the year off well and have developed outstanding foundations for success in the year ahead.

This week Aquaintance Night sessions have been taking place across the school. These took a very different look this year as we all ventured into the online space. There has been a lot of new learning for all of our teachers in the IT/online space over the past few weeks and they have done an amazing job to put on these sessions with no fuss and minimal hiccups. They are an amazing group of total professionals and we are so proud of what they have all produced and achieved! We have been so pleased to meet with families online and we are very thankful for your patience and support as we have all delved into these new processes.

The Acquaintance Night sessions will have provided you with key information regarding your child’s class this year. These sessions provide a great opportunity for our teachers to share information regarding class expectations, structures and routines, communication processes, homework and intended teaching and learning opportunities that lie ahead. We hope you found the evening sessions and this new platform for communicating this to you to be a great way to prepare us all for the year ahead.

Week 5 is a key moment in all schools as we see some relaxing of rules and stipulations. The following are able to start again from next week:

  • Day excursions and incursions
  • Swimming lessons and Sports Days
  • Interschool sporting competitions
  • Extra-curricular activities at school including choirs, band practice and instrumental music lessons
  • Outdoor assemblies

With this news we are extremely excited to be putting together our first outdoor whole-school assembly which will take place on Friday 4th March, 2022 - Week 5. This assembly will provide the first opportunity for our new Year 6 Student Leaders to take the lead and present to the school. We are looking forward to finally be able to get together as a whole-school and further strengthen our school culture and community. For our little Receptions, this will be their first taste of a whole-school assembly and  will  sure to be a very special morning for them. Unfortunately, we are not able to welcome parents back to assemblies just yet, although we look forward to this happening in the near future.

We appreciate your understanding as we are all trying to do the right thing to keep everyone safe.
