Top Class Music Performance recital
David Overton, Year 12
Last Monday, the VCE music classes were lucky enough to attend the Top Class Music Performance recital at the Melbourne Recital Centre.
Showcasing the most talented and unique students to complete a performance-based music subject in 2021, it was an invaluable and inspiring experience to be able to hear fellow young people performing. We got to see instrumentalists from our chosen instruments, as well as a number of obscure instruments such as the bagpipes, harp and recorder.
All these performers were extraordinarily talented, but also inspiring in showing us the extent to which we can push the boundaries of music, even within a regulated course such as the VCE. It was truly an invaluable experience, and one that will springboard us all into the year ahead.
Theatre Studies Unit 3 Production - Boy Girl Wall
Our 2022 VCE Theatre Studies class is currently in rehearsal for the multi-award winning, critically acclaimed play, Boy Girl Wall.
In a first for Kilvington, the play which is co-directed by VCE student Elena Stuckey de la Banda and Drama and Theatre Studies teacher Sam Kosky, will share the stage with the audience.
Elena says, ‘Get ready for a night of laughter, ensemble challenge and just a touch of romance. We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. It turns out that putting on a play is harder than it looks.’
Performances:
Tues 29 March and Wed 30 March, 7.30pm,
Dalton Hall
A pink ($5.00) or blue ($10.00) note donation at the door for a ticket.
