Wagin Woolorama Update
This week were advised that the Wagin Woolorama has been cancelled due to the increased COVID restrictions that have been put in place. The College had 25 students who we entered in the Young Judge’s Competition plus 6 students who were entering the Novice Shearing Competition. I am sure everyone will be very disappointed in not being able to attend to compete.
In lieu of the Wagin Woolorama, the College will now conduct an in-house judging competition for these students during Week 8 on their rostered Farm day to give them the opportunity to demonstrate their judging skills.
Beef
Mr Millichamp has reported that the College beef herd has had its first three calves this week with more to come over the next six weeks.
Paul Kirsten from Farmwest visited the College this week to speak to the Year 12 students who were interested in the bull selection for the Beef A.I. programme which we will be conducting next term.
Parks and Gardens
I would like to give some positive feedback to all the students who have been rostered to our parks and gardens section on the farm, they along with Mr Cruickshank have done a fantastic job over the last 5 weeks working in the College gardens replacing garden beds, pruning hedges and trimming bushes to make it look great.
