Term 1 Sports Review

Term one has been a very busy yet successful start to the year for the sporting calendar. Over year’s 7 to 12 we sent out 15 sporting teams representing the college in Volleyball, Tennis and Cricket. With a lot of our teams finishing in the top 3 we also had great success with Senior Girl’s Tennis and Intermediate Boy’s Cricket and Year 8 Boys Tennis winning overall, progressing to the next stage later on this year.

This year we finally got to run our school swimming carnival – Which turned out to be a fantastic day with perfect swimming weather! Gladstone came home with the overall win for the 3rd time in a row. From this carnival 20 student progressed to the division carnival, competing against 7 other schools. These students were fantastic, working together to win our 3rd division title in a row! 7 students then went onto the regional carnival to represent he college.

Finally we ran our whole school cross country carnival in the second last week of term, students dressed up in house colours and creative costumes to run or walk around the block gaining points for their houses. We had an inflatable wipe out course, food trucks and music performances. Munro came away with the win at the end of the carnival!

Thanks to all the teachers who trained and took out teams throughout the term, without these volunteers the students would not be able to enjoy our sporting programs.
