Welcome New Staff

This year we introduce quite a few new people to the Verney Road School team.

Teachers

Cindy

Hi, I'm Cindy and I'm a classroom teacher in the Upper Middle Years this year.

I have come from Guthrie St Primary School where I worked as a classroom teacher for the past 14 years. I have worked across all years levels from Foundation through to Year 6.

My hobbies include playing basketball, going to the gym, socialising with friends and family, and spending time with my two children, Harry and Sienna.

This year I am very much looking forward to getting to know the Verney Road School community and developing positive and trusting relationships with the students in my class.

Madeline

I am so excited to be beginning my teaching here at Verney Road School! I have the pleasure of being the teacher for some wonderful students in Early Years. I am looking forward to supporting their learning journey’s and having lots of fun along the way! I have been so warmly welcomed and feel grateful to be working in a school with such friendly and supportive people!

Tim

I have started at VRS this year and it is my first time in a specialist school setting.  I am a teacher in the Early Years' Unit and have eight wonderful students in my class.  I’m really looking forward to getting to know my students throughout the year and watching as they all experience some great success.  A big thank you to all the staff at VRS for making me feel very welcome and helping me navigate my way around.

Education Support Staff

Maddison N

I'm an ES (Education Support) and I'm in Troy Parker's class with Nola Cruz to help assist the students in all aspects of school and to help Troy create a fun and relaxed classroom. I'm finding the school very supportive and the students and staff are lovely to be a part of.

Maddy H

Hi, my name is Maddy H, I am 24 years old and I come from a big family of 7 - you might know my sister Steph H 🙊

The last 5 years I worked at St Luke's Catholic Primary School, but I am beyond excited to be joining the Verney Road School community. In my spare time I like to spend it with my friends, family and my puppy Louie. 😊

Olivia

Hi, I’m Olivia Tonks and I have taken on the role as Education Support at Verney Road School (VRS) in 2022. I have previously worked in aged care and at Goulburn Valley Health as an enrolled nurse. As a nurse I loved being able to put a smile on people's faces, but I decided it was time for a change. I would like to gain the key skills of working with children with disabilities and be able to provide them with previous skills I have learnt to make sure they have the ability to access the best education possible.

Trainees

Sally

Hi my name is Sally Dowling and I am one of the new trainees of 2022.  I finished year 12 last year with Goulburn Valley Grammar School.  I am very excited to be working at Verney Road this year where I am completing my Certificate III in Education Support.   As a trainee, I assist and learn how to become an Education Support in a classroom.  I hope to attend university next year where I can study Occupational Therapy.  I am looking forward to working at Verney Road.

Maddie K

Hi, my name is Maddie. I recently graduated year 12. Before taking on my role as an education support trainee at VRS,  I completed my VCE at Greater Shepparton Secondary College. This year  I would like to gain key skills and knowledge around working with colleagues in a professional environment, as well as working with children and learning how to understand and cater for children with disabilities in an educational environment.

Macy

Hi, my name is Macy, and I am one of the new trainees this year. Last year I graduated from Greater Shepparton Secondary College completing my VCE. I undertook this traineeship for the experience of working within a school before going to university to study to become a fully qualified teacher. Outside of Verney Road I am a coach and competitor at Greater Valley Calisthenics Club, so teaching is something I have been passionate about for many years.

Clarise

Hi my name is Clarise, I am a new trainee starting this year. I graduated in 2021 from Notre Dame College. I am looking forward to completing my Certificate III, at Verney Road school, while meeting new people and furthering my education.

Next year I will attend Latrobe University in Bendigo, and study Secondary Education.

Taylor

Hi my name is Taylor, I’m a new trainee starting this year. I graduated from Wanganui Park in 2021. I’m looking forward to completing my Certificate III in Education Support at Verney Road School and forming strong relationships with both staff and students whilst learning new skills.

I’m not sure what I plan on doing next year, but I would love to continue on the path of helping and working with children.
