It was Fr Vince's birthday last Sunday.  We wish him all the very best for the year ahead.  May God bless him always.

Feast of St Brigid - 1st February

Anyone who has joined with me to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation will know that St Brigid is my Confirmation Saint!  When I first came to Quirindi I was so amazed to find that our Parish Church was named after my chosen saint!  I share this story with students often.  It is a special time for our church as we acknowledge St Brigid today.

Welcome back!

Staff returned to school last week and joined together to pray and reflect on the focus: The cry of the earth;  the cry of the poor.  The Bishops’ Social Justice Statement 2021-22: Cry of the Earth, Cry of the Poor, affirms that “we human beings need a change of heart, mind, and behaviour”.  It draws from Scripture, from the theological tradition, from Catholic Social Teaching, and from the wisdom of the world, including the insights of the First Nations.   (provided by the CSO, 2022)

Staff Retreat

Our first Staff Retreat was held on Monday 31st January in the Fr Stan Campbell Hall.  Staff were gently guided through the day by the CSO Retreat Renewal Team Members, Leonie Keoghan & Carol Wheaton.  It was a time to 'Connect with God & each other' and to  'come away, rest awhile...' (Mk 6: 31).  The theme of the retreat was 'Come and see, go and do'.   Thank you to all staff and our Retreat Renewal Team for your dedication for nurturing your own faith and wellbeing.

Prayer Reflection

In Fr Vince's homily at the weekend, he reflected upon the second reading from Corinthians 13:

Fr Vince spoke of his time as a Seminarian where one of their learning experiences taught one to replace the word 'love' with your own name as you read this scripture passage.  Make this your prayer this week.
