A Message from the Principal

Mrs Pauline Long

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to the 2022 school year. I hope all our families had an enjoyable holiday and that you are excited to be back at school. It was wonderful to see the smiling faces of our students this morning, as you can see in the photos below!

COME! SHARE THE SPIRIT

Our school motto; Come! Share the Spirit, is very special as it embraces all that we do at St Joey's.

The Spirit of Living Well Learning Well

Our Living Well, Learning Well Framework encourages us to have universal and unconditional positive regard for children.  We have a high regard for the collective capacity of our staff to increase the learning and wellbeing of our students. Being a Catholic School, we have the added dimension of guidance from the Holy Spirit as we strive to provide the best possible faith filled education for our students.

The Spirit of Educational Growth and Success

We are fortunate to have dedicated, teaching & support staff and small class sizes. This ensures our students thrive with learning opportunities targeted to their needs and individual goals.

The Spirit of Sporting Success and Sportsmanship

Our students enjoy participating in a range of sporting opportunities during weekly sport and the inclusion of professionals delivering programs such as tennis and gymnastics. Students have many opportunities to develop and excel in their chosen sports through our Diocesan pathways to State and National level competitions.

The Spirit of Creativity

Creativity is valued and fostered at St. Joseph’s School, where students enjoy opportunities to develop their interests and skills through a variety of creative avenues. We have an annual Art Competition and this year we hope to create a school mural on the oval side of the primary classrooms and to be able to showcase the students' talents through a school play.

The Spirit of Culture and Community

The spirit of culture and community is at the heart of all we do. We welcome students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. Our students enjoy connecting with their local and wider community and building their connection to their indigenous culture and histories.

PT & F

A huge thank you to our wonderful PT & F members, led by Jenni Hird, who assisted at the very successful 'Buy and Paint the Sunflowers'  held during the school holidays. Thank you also to the Lee family for allowing us to use Windy Station for this important community event. I have heard many positive comments from families who enjoyed this creative venture.

Have a wonderful week and thank you for your cooperation in following the COVID safety advice to ensure we keep our school open.
