Welcome Back International Students

Welcome back to all of our international students! May the new academic year 2022 be full of friendships, academic success and new experiences for all of you.

We extend a warm welcome to our international program for 9 students who joined us this year. Seven of these students arrived from overseas once the international borders opened in December. Two students came as transfers from other schools. They are all adjusting to anew country, new language, new school, new friendships. Welcome to year 12 student Bac; year 11 students Marin from Japan, Khang from Vietnam, Katy and Kylie our twins from Vietnam; year 10 students Yanhao and Toby (who returned back to Collingwood College once the borders reopened); year 8 student Raeanna who joined us from the Philippines and year 7 student Nephi from China.

We look forward to supporting you to settle into the school and taking up all the opportunities that are offered.

With our students spread across two campuses this year, we had two official ‘welcome back events’. The VCE students were officially welcomed back on the rooftop of our new, state-of-the art Wurun Campus by the international support team (Lucy and Angie), Chris Millard the Principal and Melanie Singleton the VCE Manager while the years 7-10 students were officially welcomed at the Collingwood Campus by Sam Luck, Margaret Doucas, AngelaWaters and Lori Michaels. The students were bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready for the new challenges. The Lunar New Year (Year of the Tiger) was also celebrated with gifts and speeches, renewing of friendships and reminders about the rules and expectations.Nominations for International School Captains have been received and we will be holding elections at our next meeting.
