Performing Arts

It is wonderful to see and hear the Broadley Performing Arts Centre (BPAC) come back to life with sounds of students making music! Last week students were auditioning for various ensembles and the cast of The Little Mermaid had its first rehearsal.

The Year 5 students were very excited to begin their group instrumental lessons and take their instruments home. I am sure parents have been enjoying some interesting sounds as their child begins this musical journey.

Senior Music and Drama classes are in full swing, and Junior students in their Performing Arts classes are already producing dulcet recorder tones, enthusiastic percussion rhythms and humorous improvised scenes.

We welcome three new staff members to our Performing Arts team! Mrs Gabrielle Bail joins us in the Drama department, and Ms Emily Thomas (Voice) and Mrs Christine Clarke (Flute) join our superb Music instructors.

We congratulate Mattias Talpan (12.10) on his appointment as Senior School Music Captain and Claire-Annai Hilton (12.10) as Music Vice Captain. Bryce Moulton (6H) and Amelia McLeod (6H) will serve as Junior School Performing Arts Captains. We look forward to sharing in their leadership this year.

All Junior and Senior music ensembles commence rehearsing this week and our students and staff are looking forward to sharing the gift of music, drama, and dance with the Oxley Christian College community.

Ephesians 5:19-20
Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything
