Welcome to New Staff

Gabrielle Bail

Senior School Teacher

Hello! I have recently completed a Bachelor of Arts and Education at ACU and now will be teaching Drama to Years 7-11 students. I can’t wait to see you all in the classroom! I am also excited to join Oxley’s Senior production team as Assistant Director for The Little Mermaid. Outside school, I love to watch productions and ballets, as well as going for walks with my very cheeky puppy.

Christine Clarke

Private Music Instructor (Flute)

I am thrilled to be joining the Oxley music team and wider Oxley community.

Having grown up in Hobart and studied at the Tasmanian Conservatorium I ventured northwards and began my teaching career in Launceston. My passion for music education; flute playing; choral direction and musical theatre kept me busy in Tasmania. Moving to Melbourne in 2020 was a huge step of faith and God has remained faithful. I continue to rely on His direction in my life and I’m so happy that Oxley is a part of the plan.

Other passions include my two spoilt cats, cinema outings with choc tops and baking on cold winter days.

Catherine James

Canteen Assistant

Hi, I am happy to be joining the canteen team and excited to be a part of the Oxley community.

I am a mum of two beautiful children and have a dog and two rabbits. I enjoy playing basketball, AFL and camping.

Clare Jones

Senior School Teacher

It is with excitement that I join the Oxley team after recently teaching at Edinburgh College and before that, overseas in Canada, the United Kingdom and in Sydney. I have a passion for Humanities, specifically Geography and love to bring the classroom alive and make the world relevant to students. With an extensive travel history, my experiences link well to the curriculum being covered.

I enjoy experiencing other cultures, going on road trips, playing basketball and spending time with the people I love. I am grateful to God for directing my path to Oxley and look forward to all that is to come.

Sabrina Solomons

Senior School Teacher

I’m so thrilled to be joining Oxley after two years at Lilydale High School where I taught Maths, Science and VCE Biology. At Oxley, I’ll be teaching Year 7 and 8 Science as well as Year 10 Chemistry. My background is Biology and Chemistry; however I’ve also really enjoyed teaching Maths previously.

I was born and raised in the Middle East with a Sri Lankan heritage, so I’m very excited to incorporate some of my life experiences and skills into my classes here. My favourite things are music - I play the drums and sing; and art, where my medium of choice is usually acrylics. I’ve also recently picked up surfing which I’m not great at but am really enjoying learning!

Being part of the Oxley team has already brought so much joy, passion and love for my job and I’m so grateful to be here. I look forward to getting to know everyone, learning new skills, and actively reflecting Christ as a role model to my students.

Emily Thomas

Private Music Instructor (Vocal)

I am excited to join the Performing Arts team as Vocal Instructor, and am looking to forward to getting to know the students and supporting their musical growth. Over the past 10 years, I have enjoyed performing in many corporate and church events, internationally and locally and it’s nice to reconnect with my family since moving back to Melbourne in 2020.

I enjoy being active and exploring nature and feel most myself under an umbrella at the beach!

Sonja Trusler

Canteen Assistant

I joined the Canteen staff this year and am really looking forward to serving delicious lunches and treats to all the beautiful faces at Oxley.

My family and I moved from South Africa two years ago and found our new home and community at Life Ministry Church.

I have two little girls, Klara and Layla. We love to swim and go for walks in the parks nearby our house. I enjoy a good cup of coffee and building puzzles.
