Principal's news

Our school year has commenced with palpable excitement and optimism as we embrace more familiar patterns of school life following two challenging COVID-impacted years.  In particular, I warmly welcome all new students and their families to our School - I have been delighted with the connections that have been formed in this short period of time.

Our welcome assemblies and leadership induction assemblies allowed us to share the opportunities available for all students and in particular, to encourage them to embrace the full Oakleigh Grammar journey.  It was wonderful to host some of our parents on campus which provided a flavour of a more regular and normalised community school experience.

As you know, our School receives regular updates from the Victorian Government in relation to COVID protocols and I wish to provide you some current reminders:

  • No student or family member should come on to the campus if they display
    COVID symptoms.
  • Rapid Antigen Tests are recommended for all students twice weekly until the end
of Term One.  Should a student test positive, please ensure that our First Aid Officer is immediately advised firstaid@oakleighgrammar.vic.edu.au and government guidelines are followed.
  • When students or members of staff test positive, contact will be made with families of relevant cohorts.  If staff or students in these cohorts display no symptoms they can continue to attend school.
  • QR Codes are no longer required to access our Reception, however proof of vaccination is required to enter our school campus.
  • Mask wearing protocols will continue to follow government guidelines - as of Monday only primary school students will be required to continue wearing masks.
  • Inter-School sport has recommenced as have excursions and year level camps.

Our School theme ‘Success Is Ours To Achieve’ has resonated well with our student body and we look forward to celebrating the wonderful successes of each and every student during the course of this year.

I had the privilege of spending some time at Camp with our Year 12 students.  A highlight was the opportunity to swim with the dolphins and share this wonderful experience with our students.  It is clear we have a cohesive, happy and resilient year level who possess great character, which augers well for their final year of formal schooling.
