2020

Fair Survey

A huge thank you to those respondents who completed the Fair Survey.  The results have been very insightful for the new committee.  Overall, the result highlight how much our school community loves the Fair.  It is a day of celebration for school families as well as the broader community.  Moving forward, we have learnings and feedback from the 2018 Fair that we will incorporate into the planning for the 2020 Fair.

Volunteering for the Fair

Important feedback from the survey is that you would like to ensure that the Fair is inclusive and makes volunteering easier, particularly for new families to the school.  You also told us that the planning needs to start earlier.  We agree!  The following chart shows at a high level ways in which you could contribute to the Fair, be it at a Committee level, Stall/Activity Lead level, or as a shift volunteer.  All help is truly valued and makes the Fair successful.

A more detailed breakdown of roles and volunteering opportunities will be available shortly.

The Fair Committee 2020

The Fair Committee is a group of parent volunteers leading the coordination of the 2020 Fair.  This is the group that makes key decisions and shapes the Fair.  There are no prerequisite skills, just a desire to be involved.  We do have a number of important roles filled.  However, we are still in need of volunteers with an interest in helping in the following areas:

- Fair coordination - ideally this role will be shared between two people.  It coordinates the functions within the committee.

- Sponsorship & Donations - two people to lead the obtaining of key sponsors and donations for the Silent Auction and Raffle.  An important role that we'd like to have filled asap.

- Activity Stalls & Games - this role coordinates activities and games including the Chocolate Toss and Art & Craft activities.  We are looking for two people to lead this.  Volunteers will later be sought to lead each Stall or Game.

- Food & Beverage - amazing Food is a huge part of our Fair.  Again, this role is looking to have 2 people coordinating the Food Stalls, which represent traditional Fair food, multicultural food and healthier options.  Volunteers to lead each Food Stall will be sought later.

- Community Stage - do you have an interest in Music and Entertainment?  We are seeking one more person to help coordinate the Stage and the acts that it will feature.

The Committee meets monthly (more regularly closer to the event) and attendance at all Committee meetings isn't required. If you have an interest in joining the Committee in one of these roles or would like to understand more, please respond to the Geddup message "Committee Volunteers".
