2019 Enrolments

Many thanks to those who have returned enrolment forms already. If you are planning to send your child to the Scotsburn campus next year, we encourage you to return your enrolment forms ASAP.

Back Creek Farm Visit

The kids were so excited to finally have our first opportunity to visit the farm. Our first visit provided the kids with the chance to have a tour, get up close to many animals and to meet the Year 9 girls currently residing at the farm. It was a fantastic afternoon and we look forward to visiting again next term as we continue to build this great connection with the Back Creek Farm.

Pen Licences

This week, Mallacai, Bethany and Ella received their pen licences at assembly. They have been working extremely hard on their handwriting and setting an excellent example for their classmates. Congratulations to you all.

Thanks Nyree & Andrew

We received a considerable amount of photos a while back that captured various groups of students who have attended the Scotsburn Campus over the years. Nyree and Andrew (Mercury’s Mum & Dad) have been busy working on them so that they can be framed and put on show in our old Admin building. We have just received the first of them, and they are amazing. Please drop into the old building when you get a chance to take a look. Thanks Nyree & Andrew.

Wildlife Park Excursion

All students had a fabulous time at the Ballarat Wildlife park on Thursday. It was wonderful to see the questions being asked by the students to gain further knowledge on animals, their habitats, diets and what we can do to keep the animals safe in the wild. A highlight was seeing the new tigers being fed and the students’ old time favourite, Crunch the resident crocodile.

Celebration of Learning

Wednesday 11th September is our Celebration of Learning evening (5.30pm-7.30pm). The students are looking forward to guiding their parents using their Celebration of Learning Menu. A reminder that sausages will be on sale for $2.

Awards

ABC Gr P-2 – William S

ABC Gr 2-4 – Aiden

Cyber Safety

It was wonderful to have Des Hudson visit our Grade 4, 5 and 6 students to talk about staying safe online. He had many tips, such as keeping your contact details private, staying aware of information that background photos can give, and making sure you never meet up with someone you only know from online. The children gained a lot of information and reminders, and they had interesting and mature thoughts and questions. Thank you, Des.

Collaborative learning day

On Wednesday 18th September, the Scotsburn staff will be hosting the Gr 3’s from the Buninyong Campus up at Scotsburn. On Thursday 19th September, the Buninyong Grade 3 teachers will host the Scotsburn students down at the Buninyong Campus. This will provide students from both sites to experience each setting and work together on a range of activities. This will also support teachers to  plan for Term 4. We will meet in the courtyard between 8.45am and 9am on the 19th. Please ensure that you discuss a suitable meeting place with your child for the end of the day. Thank you very much for your flexibility and support.
