Room 14

Sequencing Stories!

As the year comes to an end room 14 have been recapping different text types. In particular we began a mini focus on the story of the three little pigs which aligns with narratives. In table groups we practised ordering sentences so that they make up a sequenced story. This is assisting with our problem solving skills, collaborating successfully in small groups, reading and comprehension. We have also been discussing character traits and did a focus on the big bad wolf. We created wanted posters which were displayed in the office. Room 14 is very engaged when working with their peers!

Room 4

This term for maths, room 4 has been learning about time. We have played ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf’ and cut and pasted numbers to make a clock. We have also made a clock using a hoola hoop and sticks and also using our own bodies.

Room 32

Our STEM challenge this week was to create the highest, freestanding tower. We could only use 7 newspaper tubes and 1 metre of masking tape. This is what we came up with…..BUT then we got a bit carried away !!
