Dear Families

Congratulations

I would like to congratulate Karen Smith who has just been appointed to the Counsellor position at Largs Bay School for the next 3 years. We are very privileged to have a person with so much knowledge and experience in this area and we are looking forward to having her as a part of our teaching & leadership teams.

End of Year Performance

A reminder that our end of year event (The Year My Teacher was Born) will take place on Thursday 8th December.

The school is beginning to buzz with anticipation and the children are very excited to show the community their dances!!

Thank you to all those families that have already donated to our wonderful classroom hampers that will become our raffle prizes at the concert. There is still time to drop in any donations based on the theme that your child’s class has taken on.

Reception Transition Visits

We have now had three of the four visits for our new reception children and the feedback from staff and families is that it has been very successful.

Special thanks must go to our Year 4/5 students who have taken on the role of mentoring one of the new reception children each. It has been wonderful to see the efforts that they have put in and the positive relationships that have already formed.

This is what Largs Bay is all about – supporting and caring for each other. We look forward to the final visit next week, when the children will stay until the end of lunchtime (2pm).

OSHC - Pupil Free Day

A reminder that Friday 9th December (Week 8) is a Pupil Free Day.

Should we reach minimum attendance requirements, OSHC will be open from 7.05am – 6pm.

In order for the service to be viable, we require a minimum of 15 children to be booked in on any given Pupil Free Day. Therefore it is essential that we receive all bookings by Friday 2nd December.

Please see the OSHC staff if you require care on this day.

Class Placements 2017

This process is very close to being finalised and a letter will be sent out with your child/ren’s placement (in a sealed envelope) in Week 9.

Seaton High SHIP Program 2018

If you are considering Seaton High School as an option in 2018, application forms for the SHIP classes are available from our front office.

Please note that this is for our current Year 6 students.

Parent Surveys

Thank you to all the parents that responded to the school survey.

The survey is very important to us and is used to continue to improve the school and learning outcomes for our students.

Regards,

Mike
