Principal's Report

End of Term 1

Here we are at the end of term with a couple of four-day weeks to finish off. It’s certainly been an unusual start to the year.

At census last week, we were confirmed with 829 students in our school and in the playground you can see that the pressure for space is building. We will need to keep an eye on things as they progress to see whether we need to bring some flexibility into our play times.

New staff

Last week, we welcomed Jessica Backhaus into our school as a family leave replacement for Madi Sheather who has begun her leave in preparation for the birth of her baby. Jessica joins us from Cranbourne East PS. I know that the children and parents of 5/6C will make her feel very welcome!

Year 4 Camp

Some great reports came back from the Year 4 Camp at Camp Rumbug. What a fantastic adventure for all involved.

Footsteps Disco

We are all looking forward to the annual PFA School Disco, this one supported by Footsteps who have been providing our school dance program in recent weeks. I’m sure it’s going to be a fantastic event for all!

A New Addition to the Lyndhurst Family

We are so proud to announce that our wonderful prep teacher, Lyshae Watt has welcomed a new baby to her family with the birth of Lyshae’s first baby, Parker, a son. Both mum and baby are doing really well and we all wish Meg and Lyhsae, all the very best of good wishes for their families.

Yet Another New Addition to the Lyndhurst Family

Claire Cullinane (1A) is expecting a new addition to her family as well. Ms Cullinane will officially begin her maternity leave in Term 3. I know that you all join me in also wishing Claire and her husband the best of luck and good health as she moves towards her maternity leave and the upcoming birth of her new baby, and we look forward to seeing more cute photos in due course.

Ride2School Day

Ride to School Day last Friday, with prizes and a light breaky from our fantastic PFA volunteers, was a wonderful success! Well done to all who were part of the organization.

Schools Clean Up Day

Friday was also Schools Clean Up Day as part of the Clean Up Australia campaign. Students helped out with the clean up and did a bang-up job!
