Presentation Ball Dress SALE

Attendance

It is a requirement at Lilydale High School that students attend all timetables classes so that teaching and learning opportunities can be maximised.

If students have reached their limit for absences from class there is an opportunity for this time to be redeemed. Students can speak to their Year Level Coordinator to discuss making this time up at lunchtime, during afternoon study periods, or afterschool.

Failure to make up these classes will result in receiving an ‘N’ for this subject.

Absences

Any absences from school must be parent/guardian approved – you can do this through a signed note or through you can approve your child’s absences via the Parent Approval Button on Compass.

You can also use Compass to view your student’s past absences.

VCE SAC Redemption

Students will not be granted SAC redemption unless they have a medical certificate or it is a school approved absence.

If there are extenuating circumstances please let us know and we will make a decision based on the VCAA guidelines.

VCE Signing Out Procedure

If you have study Periods 5 or 6, you must sign out using the COMPASS Kiosk. A departure ticket will print with the current time you are leaving the school.

As always, if you are leaving early (and you have classes on), please make sure a parent or guardian approves this on COMPASS or provides a signed note with you.   Please then sign out using the COMPASS Kiosk.

School Captains

Already half way through the year! Welcome back to Term 3.  Term 3 is looking bright with many community-based events happening within the school.

The Voice has been outstanding with a wide range of talents providing strong competition coming into the Grand Final next week.

With Athletics day to look forward to, there will be an opportunity to showcase your athletic abilities as well as dressing up to represent your house.

Last term, the VCE Outdoor Educational students participated in cross-country skiing at the Bongong High Plains as part of their Unit 4 studies. The students further enhanced their knowledge and awareness of sustainable practices and impacts of human interaction with the environment. Overall the vast landscapes gave a refreshing end to the end of the first semester.

Year 11 Captains

Welcome back!  We hope everyone had a safe and happy mid-year break. Congratulations to all the VCE students on completing their Unit 1 & 3 studies last semester, with some students receiving excellence and endeavour awards on the final day of Term 2.

The last week of term was quite eventful, with the successful IDAHOT day raising awareness and supporting the LGBTQ+ community, promoting acceptance and taking a stand to discrimination of all kinds.

We also had the annual staff vs Year 12 basketball game; a hilarious and memorable activity for not only those involved but everyone who watched.

The last week of Term 2 was also eventful for the VCE Unit 3 & 4 Outdoor and Environmental Studies classes who travelled to the Bogong High Plains to partake in skiing and research regarding the health of the environment. It was an extraordinary camp full of hilarious moments including mucking around in the snow, and was a fantastic experience for their last outdoor expedition for the subject.

We hope everybody has had a nice break and is feeling refreshed and ready to give Semester 2 their best shot.
