KOORIE SCHOLARSHIPS
On Thursday 1st March Koorie students from Greater Shepparton Secondary schools and Kyabram Secondary College were awarded scholarships to assist them in completing secondary school. Melbourne based church Full Gospel Assembly of God have been supporting this program since 2007. Scholarship recipients from Shepparton High School are Trinity Peachey (Year 12), Jake Newman (Year 11) and Diesel Cipriani (Year 10) who each receive $500 per year to continue their studies. These scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, financial need and good attendance levels. Congratulations to Trinity, Jake and Diesel, we wish you every success as you pursue your dreams.

PARENT/TEACHER INTERVIEWS & REPORTING – Term 1
Over the last week teachers have been completing Student Performance Average (SPA) reports for students in Years 7-12. We encourage students and parents to study the results in each category for each subject and consider how well they have gone and how they might be able to improve as the semester progresses.
The SPA report encourages this discussion not just between parents and students, but also between students and their teachers. These reports will be available on Xuno as of Monday 19th March.
The SPA reports, in addition to the Career Action Plans developed and discussed at the First Day Student Conferences and in TA earlier in the year, will form an excellent talking point for our Parent/Teacher interviews at the end of this term.
Parent Teacher Interviews will be held this term on: Wednesday 28th March – 4.00pm to 7.00pm and Thursday 29th March – 10.00am to 1.00pm.
Interviews will be conducted in the Personal Learning Centre, Senior Study Centre and the Science building. Teacher Advisors, Support staff, Classroom Teachers and Year Level Team Leaders would love to see as many parents and students in attendance as possible.
Interview times will be booked using the Xuno online booking system. In addition to making bookings with classroom teachers, parents are encouraged to book an interview time with your child’s TA to discuss progress with Learning Goals established early in the year with each student.
As well as being able to access your child’s Cycle 1 SPA reports, another progress report will be written by all teachers for one common assessment task per subject for all their students. This report will be in the form of a comment written for parents. More information will be available in our next newsletter.
